New work: “Pretty by the pond”

It’s been some while since I did an out and out landscape work. This one is of one of the ponds in Bushy Park. I Β was trying to get an impasto effect to bring out the textures in the bracken and grass.

New work: Chewing the cud

Hi everyone,

I popped over to Bushy Park early this morning to visit the deer and this was the result. I love the Royal Parks, I’m very fortunate to have several within easy travelling distance of where I live. If you are sensible about avoiding the rutting seasone when the stags can get aggressive and approach slowly then you can get very close to them. I grew up near Richmond Park and it was somewhere that we used to go to all the time for walks and picnics.

The power of a picture and the voice of the people.

Hi folks,

I’m sure that many of you have already seen this. I stumbled across the picture and the author’s text from a shared tweet on Twitter. This sends out a very powerful and hugely important message that millions of ordinary folk the world over will stand up and be counted and not tolerate secterian and racist policies. Every now and then you see a picture that is so much more powerful than words and this is one such picture.

I quote the author of the Facbeook post :

“A Taoist (me) gives up his seat so a Hasidic couple could sit together. They scoot over so a Muslim mother could sit and nurse her baby, on Easter Sunday.

This is my America: people letting people be people.”

If you haven’t already and you wish to please share the Facebook post. The author says “This is my America: people letting people be people.” the world needs more of this.

Best regards

Nearly three years of blogging!

Hi everyone,

I just realised that it is getting on for three years since I started blogging on WordPress!. I never considered myself to be much of a blogger, I guess, as the old saying goes, “I’m a man of few words”, I like to express myself through my art. πŸ™‚Β  but here I am further down the line and still very much enjoying posting.

My blog has become an important and intrinsic part of my artistic life as it gives me an oportunity to engage with and learn from others who share my interests and love of art and photography.

Thanks to all my friends who have followed my blog and for your encouragement and continued interest in my work.

Best wishes

Hi everyone,

I thought I’d try something a bit different today. A new work of a coloured glass bowl. A painterly work in muted colours.
Kind regards
