Hi folks,
Earlier today I went for a “walk on the not so wild side” a photo walk in one of my all time favourite locations, Bushy Park and the very pretty Woodland Garden. I wanted to, metaphorically speaking, and maybe literally as it was quite windy, blow the dust off of some of my less frequently used lenses as well as checking that everything, including myself, was in working order π .
I walked quite a few miles in the Park, good for my waistline after lockdown, even better for my soul. Doing what I love best, heading out, away from the madding crowds armed with a lightweight camera and a few equally compact and lightweight choice lenses and going wherever the mood takes me. He’re a selection of my shots taken with my Lumix 12-32 mm, Lumix 20 mm, Lumix 35-100 mm (for a change) and M.Zuiko 9-18 mm.
One the way back the bus had to brake heavily to avoid a large truck which reversed without looking out of a side road right in front of it. My camera bag shot from besides me on the seat and bounced and ricocheted a few times before coming to rest at the front of the bus. Fortunately the little Manfrotto bag is very well padded and, on close inspection, no damage seems to have been done and I’m happy to say, for a change, that the same is true of me.
All shots taken with my 12-32 mm except as noted.

PS. The one lens that didn’t get used yesterday was my 14 mm f/2.5 Lumix as this focal length is covered, albeit not so fast, by both my 12-32 mm and my 9-18 mm . On reflection I’ve decided to swap it out for my fast and light 45 mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko so that I have a fast short telephoto prime in my bag. It’s a lovely little sharp lens and was one of my first MFT lens purchases but, in common with my other telephoto focal length lenses, it typically gets relatively little use. Maybe if I take to carrying it around I’ll be prompted to use it a bit more. π . I’m also sticking firmly to my 1 Kg maximum weight limit.
Hi folks,
Another of my works of Guildford Castle. Castle grounds with flower beds in full bloom.

Hi,
I had to change trains in Woking Station and really liked the interesting architecture as Art Deco is a favourite of mine.

Hi folks,
War memorial and bowling green. Guildford, Surrey. The title of course a reference to Rupert Brooke’s famous poem “The Soldier” as I thought this scene was so essentially English, the bowling green and the position of War Memorial so close to it.

Hi folks,
A friend of mine suggested that I might re-visit some of my old works to help chase away my lockdown blues. This shot, taken in 2004 enlarged and re-edit using my much more modern software.

Hi everyone,
I never get tired of photographing this wildly eccentric houseboat on the River Thames at Kingston Upon Thames. every time I revisit there’s something new to see. Note the addition of a face mask to the White Rabbit, nice touch.
