Absolutely nothing to do with my artwork but I thought I’d share this with you. My other half and I are cat-lovers. We’ve always had cats for more years than I can remember. In Corfu there a literally thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of feral cats. They are everywhere you go and everywhere you look, most of them just ignore humans. Here’s a couple of cat stories.

We were walking down the road and this little cat just started miaowing very loudly. as we walked by. I went across the road  to a supermarket and bought a pack of sliced turkey ham and it stood upon it’s back legs and tried to take it from my hand, it was starving and it ate the lot.

Another evening as we were returning to our hotel down a country lane we noticed two tiny kittens, a tabby one and a ginger one. I think that they must have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves. We went to a shop and bought two foil pouches of cat food.

If cats had got opposable thumbs they’d have snatched them from my hands and opened them for themselves they were so hungry. I’ve never seen cats eat so fast, the food was gone in a blink of an eye, it didn’t touch the sides on the way down. I apologise for the very poor quality of the pictures below, they were taken on her point and shoot camera in poor light.

I know that it’s a drop in the ocean but one has to try and do what one can.
