“Fading memories of a bright Summer’s day”

Hi everyone,

As I’m not able to go out I’ve started to look through some of my unpublished shots and found this one of the view from Lewes Castle, East Sussex to work on.

“Plane and simple”

Hi everyone,

Shot with my Olympus TG-5. I didn’t buy this camera for it closeup “microscope” mode, but it is pretty darned impressive, it even has a focus-stacking facility. I collect these German-made nut and bolt figurines when I see one at the right price. Made from a BMW spark plug.

Best wishes,

Leigh

Very poignant!,”No time for love like now”

Hi folks,

I thought I’d share this.

New Horizons 34 – “Boats, pots and nets”

Hi everyone,

First work of 2021. New Horizons 34 – “Boats, pots and nets”. This morning on Bognor Beach. Olympus PEN-F and Lumix 12-32mm @ 12mm. I love this combination.

Well it helps to pass a bit of time. :)

Hi everyone,

I assembled some new cube shelving and added some remote-controlled RGB lights in the Man Cave as I was sick of having nowhere to put stuff. It’s looking tidy right now but give it a week or two and that may well change. πŸ™‚ I added an overhead white clip on LED light and it also make a nice surface for some simple macro shots without using the light tent.

Best wishes to all for 2021.

Kind regards

New Horizons 33 – “Backwater”

Hi everyone,

After days confined to indoors with ill-health and lockdown etc.. I’ve been back out shooting this morning. A river within walking distance of our new home.

WordPress Guru’s help appreciated please.

Hi everyone,

I have a friend who is looking for a beginners guide to getting started with WordPress as he’s looking to create a website for his work. Can anyone please recommend a good beginner-level book for him?.

Thanks and kind regards

Simple macro on a dull morning.

Hi everyone,

Hope you’ve all had a great Christmas. This morning to pass the time with no public transport running around here, nothing open, the weather dull, dreary and pretty uninviting and no way of getting anywhere interesting I thought I’d do a very lazy and simple macro shot of my new watch. Thing of beauty as it is it’s the only thing I can do with the watch as it needs quite a few links removed as I don’t have wrists like an Olympic weight lifter and, anyway, there’s no jewellers open in the foreseeable future until we come out of lockdown again. whenever that might be. I decided not to use my normal macro setup and just pop my Sigma ART 60mm lens, a very affordable and very sharp lens, plus Olympus M-CON macro converter on my Olympus E-PL5, stick it on a tripod with a self-timer and light it with an overhead LED light, it doesn’t get much more simple than that.

No focus stacking, just a plain and simple macro shot. Macro doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s like any other form of photography it can be (become) πŸ™‚ as expensive and technical as you want to make it.

Kind regards

Leigh
