Boxes, books and pots.

Hi everyone,

I guess most visitors to Arundel go to visit the castle. Spledid as it is I like to wander around the antique shops and old bookshops to see what I can find. πŸ™‚ I love the tiny Lumix 12-32mm lens which is why I own two of them. πŸ™‚

Kind regards

Leigh

    • Hi Marc,

Sorry about the delayed reply. I had another fall yesterday, shook me up a bit. I average about 1 a year πŸ™‚ Always the same, when my legs get tires, heaven knows what my knees are made out of as I always land on the, usually on concrete. This time just got away with a few cuts and bruises.

Yes, the 12-32 is a lovely little lens, It’s the only lens that I’ve bought two of, so useful for trips where one just wants a small lightweight all-round lens. I do really like my 12-60mm but the 12-32 often suits me better.

Thanks for the tip on RAWTherapy I’ve download the latest version to try out. I have Darktable but I’ve not really done as much with it as I should.

      All the best my friend.

      • Hey Leigh, no need to apologize at all, and I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with those issues, might be worth getting that checked out, in any case take good care of yourself, nothing matters more.

No problem at all about the RawTherapee tip, I do use darktable from time to time, but these days I pretty much shoot raw only, used to be raw plus jpg, but I changed my workflow. RawTherapee gives you a lot of control, some find it a bit overwhelming, but I keep it simple by working from the Favorites tab, it lets you focus on a small set of tools to get started and actually learn what you’re doing, and over time you build that list into your own fixed toolkit, used in whatever order makes sense for your raw processing.

If you search for favorites on my site you should find an example and how it works.
        Take care, my friend.
        Marc.

      • Hi Marc,

Thanks, my balance has also been bad for some time. Three years ago I went for an MRI brain scan which didn’t find anything except to confirm that I has a brain πŸ™‚ . Not sure if the doctors can really do anything. It’s happened several times when I’ve had a camera hanging round my neck but fortunately so far I’ve gotten away without breaking any gear.

I’ll checkout your shots with RawTherapie, it does sound very interesting. As for Luminar NEO, I’ve rolled back to an earlier version which seems to work better. Their tech support verified that they have changed their minimum system requirements with their last update but as that contains portraiture tools and I don’t do portraiture I’ll not miss them but that the end of the road for me with their software. They say that the infos on their website but how many people check their website when being prompted to update the software?.

        All the best.
