“Flags” (The arty mix) :)

Hi everyone,

Thought I’d do a different version of this one.

Optical viewfinder for my PEN E-PL5, EPL-8 and EP-5 cameras.

Hi,

I remembered that years ago I bought a small optical viewfinder which goes in the camera’s hot shoe from an Israeli gentleman who makes them. I dug it out and fitted it to my E-PL8 camera. The plugin electronic viewfinder, excellent as it is, makes the camera decidedly more bulky and less pocketable. The optical viewfinder, which includes bright parallax framing markings, has a FOV equating to a 35mm film camera 35mm lens which works nicely with the 15mm (30mm) body cap lens’ slightly wider FOV. It also looks old and dated so makes the camera even more retro-looking, stealthy and, above all more pocketable. I’ve done some test shots to get a feel for framing but, as the 15mm lens has a wider FOV than the viewfinder it’s on the safe side and I can see what I’m shooting in bright light which is always good. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ . As this lens is a fixed aperture of F/8 I’ve set the ISO to Auto ISO rather than my usual ISO 200.

Kind regards

Leigh
