    • Hi, yes, they could be a bit “unsavoury” on occasions and there was always a chance that they weren’t in working order. We had a phone, I was brought up by my Grandparents. My late Grandfather who had retired from working for the GPO telephones had a phone. Not that he got any concessions though, this country forgets about its people once they’ve served their purpose as “tax cows” 😦 . I remember neighbours knocking on the front door asking to use our phone. πŸ™‚ How things have changed,
